Trauma and Recovery

What traumatises one person doesn’t necessarily traumatise another; trauma is entirely subjective and when working with a trained trauma therapist clients can come to express fully how something has traumatised them. Traumas may come from a single event or as a¬† result of a continuous drip feed from longer term neglect, which results in eventual traumatization of a client.

Many people experience trauma in different ways. Some people choose to flee when triggered and others will fight some may flop and become incapacitated and others may freeze, unable to respond. Trauma is both a psychological and physiological response which we feel in our minds and in our bodies. Our therapists are trained in Trauma Therapy and Recovery and have extensive experience working with people with significant traumas.
